Instructions: Tennis Shot Maker

Two uses of Tennis Shot Maker are to compare different racquets hitting the exact same shot and to compare different shots hit with the same racquet. The latter is best at helping you understand how small variations in technique affect a shot. The former shows the influence on a shot of just changing the racquet.

To compare racquets: make sure all the variables are the same for both shot A and B except for the racquets.

To compare shots: it is best to have all varibles the same for both A and B and then change just one variable in B. That way you can see the influence on the shot of changing just one variable. That is the best way to learn how things work.

Tracking changes: Any variables that are different in column B compared to A will show up in yellow in column B. That way you will know what you have changed and be able to keep track of the differences between the shots you have created.

Input and Output: The page is organized in two halves: Input and output. Scroll down to see the results of the current shot settings.

To change settings: When you click the "Get Shot Trajectories" button, the page will redraw with the new information and you will land on the output section. To change settings, simply scroll back up, change variables, and click the "Get Shot Trajectories" button again.
